If you like the taste of beer, but don’t want to deal with the effects of alcohol, non alcoholic beer could be the way to go. One of the easiest ways to make your own non alcoholic beer is to take a beer that has alcohol in it and heat it to evaporate the alcohol.
You can evaporate the alcohol from a normal brew by turning up the heat to about 180 degrees and let it heat for about 30 minutes. You can taste the beer after the 30 minutes is up and see if you can taste any alcohol. If you do, let it heat for longer until you can’t taste it anymore.
Most of the yeast will have evaporated as well, so you will want to carbonate a little differently than you would a beer with alcohol in it. You can use carbonation tablets or natural yeast action by adding fresh active yeast along with priming sugar or malt to the cooled mix. When using natural yeast action, you will need to wait another two weeks for the beer to carbonate. If you have the equipment, you can also use forced carbon dioxide, which is somewhat easier and much faster.
